The University of Ghana approached our team* with a task: Promote the use of composting in Ghana. We spent three months working on research and strategy for the campaign, learning everything there was to know about agricultural conditions, sanitation issues, and marketplace economic and social structures. In March of 2018, we traveled from Eugene to Accra, Ghana to have tours of composting facilities, collect assets, and pitch the campaign to stakeholders at the University of Ghana. I worked as one of two photographers on the project, making sure to capture all the assets needed to produce the campaign remotely from the US upon our return. Since our return from Ghana, our campaign has been pitched at the University of Oregon Undergraduate Research Symposium as well as the United Nations Foundation in New York.
